Temperatures in Paros, Greece in September generally range from 23 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius/ (73F to 86F). Swimming is very pleasant as the sea water is warm. Occasionally there is rainfall in September (though rare), and there can be more wind than in the summer months.
Travel by ferry from the Athens port of Piraeus is the best way to reach Paros. Ferries leave several times per day from Piraeus. We recommend taking the 7:15 am or 7:25 am ferry from Piraeus and arrive in Paros at 10:10 am or 11:25 am. The round trip ferry ticket is 65 euros. Insight Holidays will arrange to meet you at the ferry port in Paros.
If you plan to leave Paros immediately after the retreat, we recommend the 18:00 or 19:15 return ferry on the last day of the retreat. If you need assistance booking a ferry ticket in advance, please email us at email@example.com
Most countries do not require a Visa to travel to Greece. You can learn more here.
The retreat covers three meals a day (provided by Insight Holidays), your accommodations at the hotel, transportation to and from the port, all yoga lessons, all Enneagram instruction, a boat trip group excursion, and transportation to various beaches. You will need extra money for any non Insight Holiday provided meals and drinks (i.e. taverna meals, drinks at the hotel bar, etc.). Most people spend less than 100 euros on extras.
Insight Holidays provides yoga mats for your use.
In addition to your usual summer clothes, yoga clothes and swimming things, you should bring a set of warm clothing – a sweater or fleece, leggings, waterproof jacket and socks – although normally warm and sunny, if it rains it can feel surprisingly cool.
Other Things To Bring:
Torch/flashlight, beach towel, walking shoes or sandals, sun cream, insect repellant.
If you are traveling from the UK or a non-Southern European country, you may need to bring an adaptor. We’ll have a limited number of adaptors onsite, but please plan to bring your own.
There is free wifi available in all hotel rooms and throughout the hotel.
There is mobile phone reception throughout the hotel and the island of Paros.
Our standard meals are raw, vegan. If you prefer cooked vegetarian meals, we can accommodate that as well. We can cater for people with food allergies or intolerances. We do not cater for meat, chicken or fish but the hotel has a taverna attached to it that can cater to meat preferences (see extras). If you have an allergy to a particular ingredient, let us know, and a separate dish can be made for you. However, if you have a severe reaction to an allergen, in which a very small amount i.e. on a kitchen knife or surface can trigger a reaction, we cannot guarantee to be free of cross contamination.
